3,2,1 Let’s Go Team!
Having grown up on the family farm in Mangawhai, I loved the active country lifestyle. I enjoyed my netball, hockey, dance and equestrian sports, going for beach walks, and joining my Mum in the odd Pilates class whenever she went. My sisters and I were raised by an amazing Mum, who works very hard to make us proud. I grew up admiring the raw strength that women can have juggling the career and family responsibilities, while trying to keep relatively healthy. Girl Power is a real thing, I swear!
I found a love for training in the gym in my youth when I used movement as a way of healing and rehabilitation, as I struggled with several health issues and sports injuries. My health journey has been on a constant highway since then, navigating the bumpy road challenges and dodging roadblocks, to setting new wheel alignments in my training strategies and making successful milestones along the way. I know what it can be like to start from ground zero and go through the process of struggle and hard-work, to feeling more capable and confident than you ever have previously. I wanted to help people feel that same way and help them create healthy lifestyles that suits them.
Through my own experience, I have learnt how incredibly valuable our health is as a whole and how it can impact every other avenue in our life to certain degrees. Our daily habits and behaviour towards our environment are an extension to who we are and our health is the foundation of that. Hence why I believe the better we move – the better we feel, the better we behave, and the better we become.
I have been working in the fitness industry for 6 years now, gradually working my way up from reception, trainer, group fitness instructor to management roles. I enjoy the social aspect of the gym environment and believe the best kind of gym provides a safe and welcoming workspace for clients to work on themselves.
